To investigate and create a demonstration system for a novel conference phone system comprising one loudspeaker and multiple microphones.

• To work with patentable novel technology.
• Acoustic echo cancellation is notoriously difficult to implement reliably.

How we helped

• We created a physical prototype of the device.
• We performed various microphone response measurements to assess the beamforming capabilities of the device.
• We implemented a real-time acoustic echo canceller to test the device in real-world scenarios.
• We reviewed the IP and patent draft of the client and provided several recommendations.

Results

We helped our client gain better insights into their invention and intellectual property. We created a fully functional demonstration system that included real-time acoustic echo cancellation (AEC).
